Introduction

What is Storm Haven?

Storm Haven is a Customized Everquest Emulated Server.  Storm Haven allows players to experience Everquest in a whole new way, but still retains an Everquest feel.  Progressing on Storm Haven is quicker than on an EQ Live server, but there are still plenty of challenges and over 2+ years of custom content to play in.  We have one of the more friendly player-bases of all EQEmu servers, and devoted GMs/Devs that work on the server on a daily basis.  Our Devs focus on Quality over Quantity when creating content.  Feel free to join our forums, ask questions, or log into the server and check us out!

Welcome to Storm Haven!

Per Kayen's Post:

The army of Discord is now recruiting new members to its ranks. However, you must prove yourself in battle before you can be considered.

Muramite Proving Grounds
75+ Nest Access Required
Group zone
Instanced with 6 chara limit
Zone porter in Nexus

Zone is partitioned into 10+ different areas of increasing difficulty. To gain access to each you must complete the one before it. The completion of each area will yield a special currency that can be used to purchase unique items off the in zone vendor.

Unique augment "Muramite Timestone" is obtainable in zone which will grow in stats based on your overall fasted times in each of the 10+ levels of the maze. Thus the faster you complete each area, the better your augment will be.

As usual feedback/bug reports encouraged.

Enjoy

Multiple Login Servers for Storm Haven! PDF Print E-mail
Written by Trevius

Due to some very nice work from one of the EQEmu developers, Gaeorn, we now have access to use as many Login Servers as we want at the same time!  This means that if the eqemulator.net Login Server is down, you can use one of the backup Login Servers to get into your account.

Eventually, I will probably setup our own Storm Haven Login Server, but for now, our backup for the eqemulator.net Login Server is going to be the PEQ Login Server.  For any that don't already know, PEQ is Project EQ (AKA The Grand Creation), and is one of the most respected EQEmu servers, so you can trust their Login Server.

Hopefully, soon you will be able to register your account(s) on the PEQ Login Server from in-game after logging in via the EQEmu Login Server.  When that is ready, you will be able to just issue the following command from in-game to update your account info for the PEQ Login Server:

#setlsinfo

An example would be the following:

#setlsinfo This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it mypassword

But, that command usage isn't quite ready yet.  So, for now, you will need to update your account info via the PEQ account page here:

http://www.projecteq.net/Login.php

The first option is to "Convert an EQEmu Account", and that will allow you to convert your EQEmu LS account to also be able to work on the PEQ LS.  Please note that their copy of the EQEmu Login Server Database is a few months old, so if your account is fairly new, it may not exist there and may not be able to be converted until the new command is functional.  Also, since it is a few month old, even if you have an old account, you may need to use an old password if you have changed your account password recently.  Converting your account is the best option to use, as that will guarantee that you can log in from EQEmu or PEQ, so if either goes down, you always have a backup to get on Storm Haven :D

Another option there that is worth mentioning is the "Create a New Account - NON TGC USERS ONLY!" option.  The "NON-TGC" just means it is for players who don't play on the actual PEQ server, but still want to use their Login Server to play on servers like Storm Haven.  If you create an account using that option, you will not be able to access that account from the normal EQEmu Login Server, or at least not for now.  But, one good use of this option is for you people who have recently purchased the Everquest: Seeds of Destruction expansion and installed it, and would like to check it out.

If you have SoD installed, you can log into Storm Haven with it by using the PEQ Login Server!

In order to connect to the PEQ Login Server with the SoD client, you would edit your eqhosts.txt file just like you did when you first setup EQEmu to play it.  Here is what you can put in your eqhost.txt file to play using the PEQ Login Server:

[LoginServer]
#Host=eqemulator.net:5998
Host=projecteq.net:5999

Note that I have the first host commented out by using the # sign.  This means it will ignore that line and use the one below it that isn't commented out.  The good thing about setting your eqhosts.txt file this way is that you can easily swap between Login Servers just by moving which like the # sign is in front of.  Also note that currently, the SoD client uses port 5999 NOT 5998 like Titanium and SoF use.

If you have a Titanium or SoF client and would like to try the PEQ Login Server, you can put the following in your eqhost.txt file:

[LoginServer]
#Host=eqemulator.net:5998
Host=projecteq.net:5998

And that is it!  Just remember that in order to login to that Login Server, you have to either convert your existing account or create a new one as mentioned above.  Please post if you have any questions or need any help getting this setup.

SoD coming to EQEmu! PDF Print E-mail

BUY Seeds of Destruction NOW!!!

I have started work on getting the Everquest: Seeds of Destruction expansion from Steam to be compatible with EQEmu.   It was on sale for $2.50, but has returned to it's normal price of $19.99 for now:

http://store.steampowered.com/app/24130/

The client currently can't even log into the EQEmu Login Server yet, but Rogean is working on that and should hopefully have it working any day now.  The SoD client is already almost caught up with SoF, and is already very playable and ready for player testing as soon as the Login Server can allow it to log in.  From what I can tell so far, it looks like the SoD client is much more stable than the SoF client is, and maybe even better than Titanium is since they added multi-core CPU support among other great performance and stability features.

Since it is a digital download, that means you will be able to get it instantly instead of having to wait for it to come in the mail.  I highly recommend making a copy of the install folder somewhere on your harddrive (or burn it to a DVD) so you will have a backup in case you mess the client up or need to install it fresh again at some point.

I am excited to get this new client going with EQEmu.  I think it has the potential to not only add access to new content including 20 new zones, 40 new NPC races, and dozens of new weapon models among other game features, but also has the potential to be the most stable and bug-free client that EQEmu has ever seen.  Only time will tell for sure, but my hopes are high at this point from what I have seen so far.  Stay tuned for more news on this new client version!

If you are interested in the status of the Development for the SoD client, see the following thread where we are tracking it:

http://www.eqemulator.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30867

See you in SoD soon!

EDIT: Got in game and here is the first screenshot:

First SoD screenshot

Still a ways to go, but moving along very quickly so far :)

Edit2: Here is a new screenshot that includes most of the systems now working.  There are still more things to tweak, but the core stuff works and it is actually playable now :D

EDIT3: The client has nearly all bugs worked out now and is ready for player testing as soon as the Login Server will let players log in while using SoD.
