Among the rarest of finds on Storm Haven is a new GM on the server. Today, Kayen and I welcomed our first addition to the Storm Haven Team in years (not for lack of interest, we are just extremely picky). The new GM is named Tanik, and some of you may know him better as Fribbit. Everyone please congratulate him on his new position and go easy on him while he gets familiarized with the new position!
Fribbit has been in contact with Kayen and myself for a while now and shown a steady interest in becoming a developer for the server. He has been working on his own test server to learn how to develop the type of interesting and high quality content that we all know on Storm Haven. From what I have seen of his work and heard from Kayen, I think Fribbit has shown a lot of potential and has been proving himself very well for the position.
He plans to work on some new content for everyone, and I am sure he will pick up other GM roles along the way.

Sorry for the downtime of the website. Our hosting got hacked and it took down all of their servers. They had to format them all and rebuild them all again, then restore the backed up data for individual boxes like the one we run on. I guess when they restored ours a couple of days ago, it didn't go right. I finally got in touch with someone there through email and they rebuilt it again to restore it.
As far as I know, we shouldn't be expecting anymore downtime for the website anytime soon. Hopefully they will give us a free month of service for this!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
(or at least all of our American players)
As in previous years, we have enabled a special custom Thanksgiving event that can be done at all levels. This event is a bit different than others you may have seen (if you haven't seen it in the previous years). You may want to find a friend to help you with the chasing portion of the event. Those Gobblers can be pretty quick!
You can get there by speaking with Wolfie Turkeylover in Guild Lobby near the Illusionist. I hope everyone gets a chance to try out this event if you haven't already. We will leave it up through the week following Thanksgiving. |

For the past 4 years, we have had a single Halloween event. It is a simple event where any level character can trick-or-treat for a random illusion item. In addition to the normal event this year, we have a new event for Halloween as well. The new event takes place in the maze of the Plane of Nightmare. Normally all event NPCs are located in the Nexus, but this year the new one will be located in Temple of Marr hub zone. About 95% of the server already runs a client that can access the Temple of Marr. The NPC for the old Halloween event will remain accessible via Nexus, but also through ToM.

Quick note on a couple of recent changes for existing zones:
Solteris has been tuned down a bit to help make it a bit easier to progress through.
All SoF 1-65 leveling zones have had drop rates increased considerably for most quest drops. This mainly includes the Defiant armor quest pieces, but also a few other quest pieces as well. The SoF zones include Crescent Reach, Ruins of Takish-Hiz, Stone Hive, Hills of Shade and Loping Plains. Along with these drop rate increases, I have consolidated the NPC scripts on combat NPCs to make them more manageable. Please keep an eye out for any issues with combat NPCs in these zones and report any issues that are found.
